CellCube meets the smarter E Europe 2023
Under its trademark ‘CellCube’ Enerox GmbH develops, manufactures and deploys Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFB’s) internationally. VRFB’s are sustainable, long-duration energy storage systems, securing and accelerating the energy transition towards a future of net-zero renewable power generation. CellCube_Enerox is a developing pioneer and the global technology and industry leader in its field of operation. The bankable VRFB systems suite various applications alongside four focused business segments: resilient microgrids for industrial and commercial customers, energy storage for remote microgrids and island solutions as well as long-duration back-up systems for green and critical infrastructure facilities. More than 140 CellCube systems have been deployed across 20 countries and all climate zones on the planet. CellCube_Enerox is headquartered near Vienna, Austria, with an office in Denver, Colorado for its North American operation.

SELF-CONSUMPTION & POWER QUALITY OPTIMIZED
Energy-intensive industries are dealing with challenges like own-use optimization and avoidance of grid fees, as well as issues of electricity quality – e.g. instability causing monetary losses. CellCube’s long-duration, multi-hour storage solutions offer a holistic concept, covering demand peaks, securing grid quality and improving own consumption of electricity from renewable sources. CellCube energy storage systems are ideal for creating a temporary microgrid and, thanks to their quick reaction time in milliseconds, they can also be used in critical infrastructures.

NET-ZERO TARGET ACHIEVEMENT – ENVIRONMENT FIRST
Many energy storage solutions come with significant issues regarding safety and environmental impact. Questions such as what to do with them after the end of their lifetimes remain unanswered. CellCube’s 140 reference projects from around the globe show that our Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries are a sustainable, long-term solution. Over 85% of the CellCube system are directly and conveniently reusable and the electrolyte used, Vanadium, is not inflammable and comes without degradation. Our systems have an operating lifetime extending beyond 20 years and we take a ‘cradle to cradle’ approach with the individual component’s life cylces.

NON-FLAMMABILITY IS KEY
The intrinsic non-flammable nature of CellCube’s Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries provides a huge advantage over standard Li-ion battery solutions and eliminates the strict transportation restrictions associated with Li-ion. The non-flammability makes it a perfect solution for e.g. critical environments such as densely populated areas, areas with critical infrastructure, hydrogen plants and many other settings.

SECURITY OF SUPPLY
Ramping up production quickly is an enormous challenge! Limitations on the resource side such as a foreseeable lithium shortage might have a severe impact on scalability. We at CellCube have secured our supply chain through long-term supply agreements for key components like Vanadium – with a price cap over several years. We share these key benefits with our VRFB-customers!
